Robinson Chirchir, popularly known as Malaria, is a Kenyan politician and Nandi County senatorial aspirant, based in Eldoret.  Chirchir has earned recognition for his consistent grassroots engagement, particularly through community events and harambees, where he interacts directly with youth and residents.

Biography

Robinson Chirchir is a Nandi County senatorial aspirant whose early life, family background, and educational history are not well-documented. While much about his personal history remains private, Chirchir has steadily built a public profile through his active involvement in community initiatives and grassroots engagement across the county.

Political Career

Robinson Chirchir is entering elective politics as a Nandi County senatorial aspirant. He has built a profile through public engagement, attending local harambees, interacting with youth and bodaboda riders around the county, and showing up at community events, including funerals.

His growing popularity is a result of his humbleness and commitment that he promises to the people of Nandi.

Chirchir has also earned recognition from political leaders, including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii, president Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, and Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno Ole Kisiria,  for his dedication to serving the community.

He has become a familiar face at harambees and community gatherings in Nandi, where he contributes between KSh 100 and 500 in support of local activities. In a recent event during the celebration of MC. Kendagor’s 17th music anniversary saw Chirchir contribute 500 shillings, prompting the audience to respond with overwhelming generosity, led by Oscar Sudi, who supported him with 100,000ksh. Chirchir bagged up to KSh 120,000 to support his senatorial bid come 2027.

Among his competitors in the 2027 senatorial race will be Samson Cherarkey, who is the current senator of Nandi, and Former Emgwen Member of Parliament Alex Kosgey. 

Net worth

Robinson’s net worth is not publicly disclosed, but if he successfully wins the senatorial seat in 2027, he will get a  gross salary of Ksh 739, 600 that includes:

  • Basic salary of Ksh 443,760
  • House allowance of Ksh 150,000
  • Salary market adjustment of Ksh 145,840.
