Nairobi County Government has invited eligible plumbers in the county to register for the upcoming examinations.
In a public notice dated September 30, County Secretary and Head of County Public Service, Godfrey Akumali, invited qualified plumbers and drainlayers to register for the 2025 examination.
The examinations are scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25, 2025, and the deadline for applications is set for November 1, 2025.
“Nairobi City County Government invites qualified Plumbers and Drainlayers for Registration of Examinations for their licences to be conducted on 24th & 25th November 2025,” read part of the Nairobi County notice.
The licensing exercise is intended to ensure that only trained and competent professionals operate within the city.
Eligibility
According to the notice, applicants must meet specific requirements to qualify for the examinations.
Eligible candidates include those with a Government Grade II Trade Test and at least three years of work experience, or a Government Grade III Trade Test with a minimum of five years of experience.
The County added that other acceptable equivalent qualifications would also be considered during the vetting process.
How to Apply
Interested candidates were asked to collect application forms from the City Hall Annexe, 1st Floor, Development Control Section.
“Application forms to be picked, filled and returned,” it stated.

The forms must be duly filled out and returned together with the following documents:
- A copy of the National ID or passport
- Academic and professional certificates
- Any other relevant supporting documents
“More information can be obtained from the above-mentioned office during normal working hours,” the Nairobi County notice emphasised.
Completed applications should be submitted physically to the Development Control Section before the 1st of November 2025 deadline.
Nairobi County Issues Health Advisory for CBD Area
This comes after the County government previously issued a health advisory for residents and commuters, warning that the air near the fire station in the Central Business District (CBD) is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Residents entering the area have been advised to wear masks, while vehicle owners are encouraged to turn off their engines when parked to help reduce emissions.
Speaking on the state of Nairobi’s air quality, Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, said that while most areas in the city currently have clean air, pollution in the CBD remains a concern.
“There is a lot of pollution going on in CBD, especially around the fire station area, and our website is showing that the air is unhealthy, so when you are in CBD, please make sure that you wear a mask,” Mosiria stated.
