A TikToker has shared the ordeal he endured at the hands of individuals believed to be security agents. Geoffrey Chesoni was abducted in broad daylight in Mombasa CBD by seven armed men in a Subaru vehicle.

A video circulating on social media shows one of the armed men firing into the air shortly after Chesoni was taken.

According to the blogger, the armed men drove him all the way to Voi Forest, where he was subjected to severe torture.

“When I talk about mental torture, they were threatening me. They were telling me, ‘We’ll leave you here to be eaten by wild animals. We’ll throw you into this forest.’ They even gave me examples—‘You see, even with Albert Ojwang, he was killed and that was the end of the story.’ They kept mentioning people who had died before.”Chesoni recounted.

Geoffrey Chesoni Narrates Ordeal During Captivity

He narrated that while in the forest, he was handcuffed and repeatedly interrogated. His captors demanded to know who was funding him to participate in the June 25, 2025, protests.

“During that time, they kept interrogating me and threatening to kill me, saying no one would ever know because they were using vehicles with fake number plates. They told me, ‘Tell us who is funding you, or we will kill you.’”

Chesoni also claimed that while in captivity, the men were in constant communication with an unknown source, updating them step by step.

He said he struggled to identify who his captors were, noting that they did not look like regular police officers.

“These people don’t look like normal police officers. They look nothing like police. They had IDs, but these IDs didn’t have names—just said something like ‘Police Service’ with no identification.”

After the torture in the forest, Chesoni said he was taken to the State House, Mombasa, where the abuse continued. He was also threatened not to share what had happened to him.

KNCHR Reveals Data of Enforced Disappearances After June 25

According to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), 15 cases of enforced disappearances have been reported since the June 25, 2025, protests. In addition, 179 arrests, 531 injuries, and 19 fatalities have also been reported.

On June 25, 2025, the country experienced widespread protests marking the anniversary of the 2024 anti-government demonstrations.

President William Ruto has taken a firm stance against the unrest, describing the protests as “calculated chaos, violence, destruction, and economic sabotage” rather than peaceful demonstrations.

He has directed security agencies, including the Inspector General of Police, to conduct swift investigations and apprehend those responsible for property destruction, looting, and attacks on police during the protests.

Ruto stressed that while the Kenyan Constitution protects the right to peaceful protest, the violent acts witnessed, including the targeting of traders’ businesses and police stations, were unacceptable and would face decisive legal action.
