This summer, several clubs parted with billions on new signings with Julián Alvarez’s transfer from Manchester City to Atlético Madrid topping the list with Ksh. 11.25 billion (€75) million deal.
- Julian Alvarez – £64.4million
In the summer of 2024, Julian Alvarez was the most expensive signing transacted as he joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City. The deal was worth Ksh.12.26 billion (£64.4) million and another Ksh. 3.249 billion (£ 17.1) million in add-ons.
Moreover, the deal also marks a significant profit for City, who signed the 24-year-old from River Plate for Ksh. 2.679 billion (£14.1) million in January 2022.
- Dominic Solanke – £55million
Following the failure to replace Harry Kane in the summer of 2023, Tottenham chose Solanke to be one of their top transfer targets in the 2024 window.
Notably, the striker had the best season of his career in 2023/24, where he netted 19 goals in 38 Premier League appearances.
Subsequently, Spurs secured his transfer after agreeing to pay an initial Ksh. 10.45 billion (£55) million to the Cherries, with add-ons the total fee could potentially rise to Ksh.12.35 billion (£65) million.

- Leny Yoro – £52.1million
In this bid, Manchester United was forced to switch their attention to Yoro after two unsuccessful bids for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
Notably, Leny Yoro was also linked with Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid but Manchester United won the transfer.
United gave out an initial Ksh. 9.899 billion (£52.1) million on the 18-year-old outstandingly, becoming the sixth most expensive teenager ever.

- Pedro Neto – £51.4million
This is the fourth most expensive signing of 2024. Pedro Neto from Wolves, with the winger, cost an initial Ksh. 9.766 billion (£51.4) million and another Ksh. 494 million (£2.6) million in potential add-ons.

Among the 11 first-team signings by Enzo Maresca, were over Ksh. 38 billion (£200) million was spent during the first transfer window as Chelsea manager Pedro Neto was the most expensive.
Moreover, an article published by TEAMTALK quoted Enzo Maresca saying, “I am very excited, he can offer many things. He can play on the right side, he can play on the left side, he is very good at one-on-one.”
Consequently, two weeks after the deal was completed, the 24-year-old returned to Molineux and registered an assist in a 6-2 win for Maresca’s side.

- Moussa Diaby – £50.4million
Moussa Diaby has joined the list of high-profile players moving to the Saudi Pro League. Villa made a profit on the France international by selling him to Al-Ittihad for Ksh. 9.576 billion (£50.4) million, where he signed a contract worth Ksh. 47.5 million (£250,000) per week.
Previously, Diaby held the title of Aston Villa’s most expensive signing, after joining the club last summer in a deal worth an initial Ksh. 8.17 billion (£43) million.
Conclusively, according to the widely published reports, a total of 15 deals surpassed €50 million, including Manuel Ugarte’s move to Manchester United, Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, and Pedro Neto to Chelsea.
