U.S. President Donald Trump has approved plans to attack Iran but has not given the final order.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump stated he has not made a final decision on whether to strike Iran.
He mentioned that the U.S. might attack Iran or might not, depending on how events unfold in the coming week.
“I may do it; I may not do it. The next week is going to be very big, maybe less than a week. I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due, because things change, especially with war,” he said.
Trump asserted that Iran was only weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon before Israel commenced its strikes last week.
He said he now seeks “total victory,” not a ceasefire, maintaining his stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions led by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“We’re not looking for a ceasefire. We’re looking for a total and complete victory. Again, you know what the victory is: no nuclear weapon,” Trump stated.
Reports suggest that Iran’s Fordow enrichment facility is one possible target of the U.S.
U.S Possible Target
The Fordow is situated deep underground and is heavily fortified, presenting a challenge for targeting with missiles.
However, Trump emphasized that only the U.S. Army can strike the Fordow but clarified that this does not mean he will proceed with it.
“We’re the only ones that have the capability to do it, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it at all,” Trump remarked.
Trump explained that the U.S is not looking for war but will not allow the creation of a nuclear weapon.
“I’m not looking to fight. But if it’s a choice between fighting and having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do,” he said.

Iran Mission to UN Responds to Trump Threats
Iran’s mission to the United Nations responded to Trump’s threats in posts on X.
The Mission said Iran will not be forced to negotiate for peace, stating that no Iranian official has ever been to the White House.
“Iran does not negotiate under duress, shall not accept peace under duress, and certainly not with a has-been warmonger clinging to relevance,” Iran’s UN Mission said.

“No Iranian official has ever asked to grovel at the gates of the White House.”
Additionally, the mission termed Trump’s statements about Khamenei as “cowardly”.
“The only thing more despicable than his lies is his cowardly threat to ‘take out’ Iran’s supreme leader,” it said.
