The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has released the academic calendar for both first-year students and other continuing students.
In a notice dated Saturday, August 16, 2025, the university urged first-year students to take note of these dates to facilitate their smooth integration into university life.
“All students, especially our first-year students, are encouraged to take note of the important dates for a seamless transition into university life,” the notice stated.
According to the announcement from the Vice Chancellor, first-year students will be taken through an orientation program designed to welcome and induct them into university life.
TUK Announces Academic Calendar for 2025/2026
This program will help them become familiar with the academic, social, and administrative aspects of the institution. The orientation will run from August 25 to August 30, 2025.
Lectures for the first semester will officially begin on September 1, 2025, and continue until October 4, 2025. Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) are scheduled for the week of October 6 to October 11, 2025, followed by additional lectures until mid-November.

The second round of CATs will occur between November 17 and November 22, 2025. A revision week will take place from November 24 to November 29, 2025, leading into the Semester I examinations, which are set for December 1 to December 13, 2025.
Semester II will commence on January 5, 2026, with lectures scheduled through February 7, 2026. The first CATs for this semester will be held from February 9 to February 14, 2026, followed by more lectures and a second round of CATs from March 23 to March 28, 2026.
University Announces Any Schedule Alteration Will Require Senate Approval
A revision week will take place from March 30 to April 4, 2026. The Semester II exams will be held from April 6 to April 18, 2026.
Additionally, the university has outlined the schedule for Semester III (Optional/Industrial-Based Learning/Long Holiday), which will take place from April 27 to August 8, 2026. During this period, exam grading will be conducted from April 27 to June 13, 2026, followed by external moderation of results from June 15 to June 27, 2026.

Supplementary and special examinations are scheduled for August 3 to August 15, 2026.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Benedict Mutua, stressed in the notice that all examinations will strictly adhere to the official university timetable. He further noted that any alterations to the schedule will require prior approval from the Senate.
The university also confirmed that the postponed Industrial-Based Learning (IBL) for the 2024/2025 academic year has been rescheduled for the 2025/2026 academic year, with departments expected to provide specific timelines.
