Veteran journalists have landed new jobs in the latest state appointments.
The Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo announced the appointments to the Government Delivery Unit on January 5,2025, stating that they are aimed at enhanced communication strategies and delivery of services.
Media personality and founder of True Love magazine Dr. Carole Mandi, and former KTN journalists Patrick Amimo and Boniface Odinga are among the new professionals hired to strengthen the Government Delivery Unit.
According to Owalo, the team is tasked with communicating government plans in terms of service delivery and its progress in carrying out these plans.
Journalists to strengthen communication and media relations
“The focus is to ensure clear communication about government plans and their progress,” said Owalo.
Carole Mandi, who is a Strategic Communications Advisor, has been appointed as the leader of the team. Carole has worked previously as an advisor in the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Digital Economy and in publishing and editing roles.

Former KTN Editor Patrick Amimo and former KTN journalist Boniface Odinga’s role in the Government Delivery Unit will be to strengthen communication and media relations.
Amimo is a seasoned journalist who has worked in various capacities including being a senior reporter at KTN. With his background in journalism, Patrick and Boniface are set to bring to the team their experience in communication at the national level.

Branding specialists appointed
Other members appointed to the team include Archie Achieng’ Ojany, a Branding Specialist, who is set to be in charge of Branding, Marketing, and Stakeholder Engagement.
Archie Achieng’ Ojany is the former County Minister for Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, in Kisumu, Kenya.
Wambui Ng’ayu, an Advertising & Branding Specialist, and Alloyce Obare, a Branding and Delivery Specialist, are to be in charge of Product Development, Delivery Strategies, and Digital Communications.

The Government Delivery Unit is a specialized Agency in Kenya that was established in 2015, to enhance the performance and delivery.
Its roles entail overseeing the flagship of government projects, monitoring and evaluation, and providing regular updates on these projects.
It also engages citizens to collect feedback on government programs to ensure they align with the expectations of the public.
