Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura was among the distinguished guests who turned up to celebrate the wedding of popular Radio Jambo presenter, Bramwel Mwololo.
Mwololo, a household name and one of Kenya’s top radio personalities, has been captivating listeners for over 16 years. Besides being behind the mic, he’s also built an impressive career in sports and part-time coaching.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the presenter tied the knot with Damaris Wambui in a grand wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was nothing short of spectacular, with the bride radiating elegance in a stunning white gown and the groom looking sharp and elegant in an all-black suit, paired with a crisp white shirt creating a timeless, classy look. The beautiful moments were captured in photos shared by Isaac Mwaura on Saturday night.
“Finally Sir Mwololo Bramwel amepata jiko. Hakuna patanisho tena. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs Damaris Wambui (Dee) Mwela Mwololo, the newest couple in town. May our dear LORD bless your union forever,” said Mwaura.
Before joining radio in 2008, Bramwel Mwololo had played both rugby and football at the highest level both local and abroad.
Bramwel Mwololo Career
The 59-year-old attended Muslim Primary School, where his love for the beautiful game started.

In a past interview with The Star, Mwololo revealed that he was already a goalkeeper in the school team by class five before the school coach intervened and changed his role to that of a striker.
“I remember being in goal for the first team a couple of matches then the coach said he needed to change my position in the team, and I played as a striker and then we went to the nationals. From then, my position changed to striker,” he said.
On completion of primary school, Bramwel joined Highway Secondary School where he became a regular in the school team. Mwololo’s performance did not go unnoticed as Barclays Bank came calling for his signature.
The bank already had top team in various disciplines, such as hockey, football, basketball and rugby.
Notably, the move came at an era where parastatals and corporates like the defunct Kenya Posta, Kenya Railways, and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) would camp at national school games scouting for talent.
Mwololo joined the bankers as a teller and was an instant success with the football team, playing a striker-cum-winger alongside the likes of Ignatius Khaduli, Abdalla Shedu as well as his brothers Gideon and Peter Mwololo.
Football and rugby
At the same time, Mwololo would train with the Barclays rugby team during the football off season.
He was blessed with blistering pace and pin-point ability to kick penalties with these two attributes enabling him take to rugby as a duck to water which later saw him join Watembezi RFC for the Sevens tournament in Singapore.
On the local scene, Mwololo dazzled for Barclays RFC. Fortunes were to change yet again for the young Mwololo when he signed for English Rugby league side, Hunslet Rugby.

It was, however, a short-lived journey for Mwololo who after four months left the club. A year after he returned home, he went back to his first love, football, in 1995 where he joined AFC Leopards.
He later had a one-year stint with Utalii FC before joining the professional ranks with Al Ittihad of Oman.
In 1999, he returned to the country and joined Gor Mahia as a player-coach.
Mwololo and Gor Mahia would later part ways after falling out with former chairman Leslie Okudo over nonpayment of dues.
His next football journey was to take him to neighboring Tanzania, where he coached Moro United for a year before coming back in 2000 when he retired from sports.
Radio stint
Since 2008, he has been a presenter at Radio Jambo where he hosts a political talk show every Monday to Friday from 7pm.
In the formative years of the radio station, Mwololo has hosted a morning show alongside Toldo and has been named among the best presenters. The show on the other hand has won multiple awards for the best sports show.
Mwololo has also in the past, co-hosted a Saturday show with Isaac Mwaura on Radio Jambo for ten years.
