Lucy Mbugua is a judge of the Environment and Land Court (ELC) of Kenya where she serves as the presiding as the Judge of the Nairobi Land Division at Milimani.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi, which she attained in 1990.
In 1991, Lucy Ngima Mbugua earned her Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and was admitted to the Roll of Advocates in the same year.
Lucy Mbugua’s Work Experience
She has been the Judge of the Environment and Land Court since 2016.
From 1994 to 2016, she served in the Magistracy.

Before joining the magistracy, Lucy Mbugua worked from 1992 to 1994 as an Advocate at Vohra and Gitau Advocates.
She also chairs the Nairobi Land Justice Working Group, which is tasked with identifying the root causes of land disputes in Nairobi County and implementing innovative solutions like Alternative Justice Systems (AJS).
