The prosecution through James Gachako informed the court that on the material day, the tout approached the complainant asking her to drive away as where she had parked belonged to another Sacco.
The complainant drove her car to a different spot.
However, the accused person followed her and opened the driver’s door, pulled her out, and started insulting her.
At this point, two police officers from the traffic police approached the scene to calm the situation only for the accused person to flee.
The female driver went to make a report the matter at Central Police Station.
Tough economic times
The tout was later arrested after being identified by Kabura .
The accused pleaded guilty claiming that the economy is tough, and was afraid the complainant might affect the movement of his matatu.
Pleading guilty, Karanja wants the court to forgive him saying that he did it out of anger.
He further said that he has since made apologies to the complainant, but her boss declined to have the matter settled out of court.
The magistrate, however, detained Karanja until November 7 .
The court will issue judgement after the probation department files a pre-sentencing report .
