Radio presenter and content creator Wilson Muirania Gathoni famously known as Jaymo Ule Msee has announced his exit at Trace Eastern Africa Media Group.
Jaymo on June 30 expressed his gratitude and confirmed his exit from the radio station, praising his boss and colleagues for their support.
“Today is the last day ya BarTalk Show pale @traceeasternafrica. A huge shout to all BarTalk Fans, my cohost @cliff_the_cliff and all team members that we have shared the platform @1mariahmariah, Vysek, @georgegreelz, @selekta_charlie @travis_deejay @dj_karmellohype @de09leon @redchoco__ @yazzbit,” he wrote.
“You have all made the BarTalk show to what it is today. Salute to our boss @dannymucira for trusting us with platform and all @traceeasternafrica colleagues for everything we did together.”
In a podcast earlier, Jaymo revealed that the boss at Trace Eastern Africa informed them about the station’s closure citing challenging economic conditions in the country.
“The boss called all of us working in the radio department and told us that they were going to close the radio business because people don’t have money to advertise, people don’t have money to go to the media, and the best decision he had was to close the business,” he said.

Education and Professional Journey of Jaymo Ule Msee
The comedian attended primary and secondary schools in Kiambu County before joining the University of Nairobi.
During his year in high school, Jaymo actively participated in entertainment activities like pranks and music, setting the stage for his future in the entertainment sector.
In university, he partnered with a friend named Masai to perform skits, entertaining their fellow comrades.
Jaymo holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Nairobi (UON).
After graduation he was employed as relationship officer at a leading bank in Kenya in its rural branch.
However, in a past interview, Jaymo noted that he felt incomplete and resigned after six months driven by his passion for spreading good vibes and bringing smiles to people’s faces.
“I felt that my mind was not being engaged enough, largely because of the routine associated with my role. When I told my parents and friends that I had quit, they were puzzled and thought it was the wrong move, but I knew what I wanted,” he said then.
Quitting his job turned out to be the spark Jaymo needed to ignite his creativity.
Alongside his two friends, he launched whatshappening.co.ke, a popular entertainment site featuring event listings, movie calendars, plays, and football club information across major towns in Kenya.
He later joined the Nation Media Group (NMG) in their digital division and eventually ended up selling his website to the media group.

Birth of His Show
Following three years at NMG, Jaymo transitioned to Squad Digital, a marketing agency, as the digital account manager.
It was during this time that he conceptualized ‘Jaymo Ule Msee’ in March 2015, evolving from ‘Ujinga Saucer’, a local web series that humorously tackled trending social issues like the infamous Pastor Kanyari scandal.
Jaymo explained that he chose the name ‘Jaymo Ule Msee’ to better resonate with his audience, as many mistakenly assume his real name is James.
In interviews, he highlighted that the brand appeals broadly across age groups, from 18 to 65, with its short skits receiving positive reception.
In 2022 Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah appointed Jaymo Ule Msee as the party spokesperson.
