Simon Kachapin Kitalei is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Governor of West Pokot County.
He was the first governor of West Pokot, initially elected in 2013 and serving until 2017.

Notable achievements included establishing the KMTC Kapenguria Campus, the Kapenguria ECDE College, the Nasukuta Abattoir, Kriich Road, and the Makutano Market.
He was also the first governor in the county to implement bursary funds for needy students.
After his initial term, Simon Kachapin served as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in multiple state departments, Education, Energy, and Water from 2017 onward, before returning to elective office.
