The Government has announced training dates for 42,735 youths selected for the NYOTA Program, which is funded by the World Bank. The training sessions are scheduled to take place from Wednesday, November 26, to Saturday, November 29, 2025.

In a press release dated November 26, 2025, the State Department for MSME Development stated that the training will take place in 17 counties as part of the final cohort of the NYOTA program.

“The Nyota Project will launch the Business Support component, classroom training for the last cohort, covering 17 counties across Central Kenya, Nairobi City, North Eastern Kenya, and Coastal Kenya. This will begin today, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, and continue until Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the respective constituency headquarters,” the notice read in part.

Dates and Locations for NYOTA Programme Trainings

The four-day classroom training marks the final cohort of the program and will be conducted across 17 counties in Central Kenya, Nairobi, the North Eastern region, and the Coast.

According to the government, the training will be conducted in 17 counties, namely: Garissa, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kwale, Lamu, Mandera, Marsabit, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nairobi City, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, and Wajir.

This will bring the number of counties that have undergone the NYOTA Project’s business support component to 46.

Additionally, the MSME department stated that training in Elgeyo Marakwet County, which was affected by recent tragic landslides, will be organized at a later date.

42,735 trainees have been invited for classroom training across 510 wards, in line with the program requirement of 70 trainees per ward.

Selected beneficiaries must attend at least 3 of the 4 training days in the specific constituency they indicated during their application. Meeting this attendance requirement is necessary to qualify for the business grant disbursement.

Training centres across all participating constituencies have been fully prepared for the Business Development Support (BDS) sessions, which must be completed before the disbursement of start-up capital.

The latest training follows a similar exercise conducted last week across 25 counties, including Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Turkana, Baringo, Laikipia, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Isiolo, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Nandi, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, and Bomet. That phase included participants drawn from 151 constituencies and 754 wards.
