Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki will supervise the start of post-mortem examinations on the bodies exhumed from Shakahola forest.
The CS will go back to Kilifi County Monday, May 1 to oversee the process.
While addressing the press on Monday morning, CS Kithure Kindiki stated that the post-mortem exercise will be seeking to find out cause of death as well as determining whether the victims body organs were harvested.
He added that if that is proved, the government will take action against those found guilty.
“If any of our people have their organs missing, we will tell the world, there is nothing we are hiding and we will have to find out why those organs are missing, who took them and to where,” The CS stated.
CS Kindiki further said that The Judicial Commission of Inquiry that will be selected by the president recommend the best action to be taken on the people who will be found guilty.
The total number of bodies exhumed at the so far are 109.
These bodies are of people who were allegedly members of the cult led by pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, of the Good News International Church,
Mackenzie allegedly lured his congregants into starving themselves to death ‘to find God’.

Nonetheless, the one week long postmortem examinations at the Malindi Sub-county mortuary shall be conducted by a team of experts led by Government Chief Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor.
Moreover, access to the Chakama Ranch area where Shakahola Forest is located has been restricted to the public as the process of exhuming bodies continue. The interior CS also imposed a 30-day dusk-to-dawn curfew in the area.
14 members of the cult have since been apprehended by the police.
Furthermore, the disturbing incident in Shakahola forest sparked reactions from members of the public, religious leaders, and political leaders.
As such, President William Ruto announced that he will appoint a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to probe the Shakahola massacre.
Furthermore, religious leaders have called for scrutiny on the kind of doctrines being taught in different churches across the nation.
