President William Ruto has extended the term of Taskforce on Police Reforms by two months to review terms and conditions for the National Youth Service (NYS).
President Ruto says that NYS serves with dedication and they must be considered, and their terms of service improved
“I have directed that extension of two months be made available for the taskforce so that it can also include the National Youth Service terms and conditions to ensure that the NYS joins the other discipline services. This will guarantee that the men and women who serve with dedication commitment and sacrifice are considered,” .
“I look forward to that report in the next two months so that we can make it possible for the men and women who do this great job to get their due regard from the people and the government of Kenya in terms of their employment and terms of service,” said President Ruto.

The Maraga led Taskforce is mandated with identifying the legal, policy, administrative, institutional and operational constraints on effective service delivery by the National Police Service (NPS) and Kenya Prisons Service (KPS) and review and recommend improvement of the terms and conditions of service.
