Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto jailed over bribery claims.
Sankok wants the duo in prison for allegedly engaging in bribery in the run-up to the 2013 general election.
The MP says if Uhuru paid Ruto in exchange of his support in 2013, then they should both be send to prison.
“If it is true that that the president paid deputy president to gain his support, they should actually go to jail”.
“They should be jailed at the Kamiti Maximum Prison” said Sankok.
He however poured cold water on the bribery claims
Sankok said President Uhuru won the hearts of Kenyans and that he could not bribe Ruto to support him.
“I know my president cannot buy support and the DP cannot accept. He supported Uhuru genuinely and from the bottom of his heart,” he said.
Sankok was reacting to claims by former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju who on Wednesday said Uhuru paid Ruto to get his support in 2013.
Tuju, claimed that Uhuru’s friends paid billions of shillings to Ruto to lure him into supporting his presidential bid.
“For a man who says seven billion ‘is only’ your guess is as good as mine. It was in the billions.
“That was like the upfront payment then the final payment was through grabbing certain ministries,” he said.
