Galleria Shopping Mall is located at the Junction of Magadi and Langata roads in Nairobi.
The Mall is owned by Trevor Kanja, whose family runs Nairobi Homes, a real estate firm.
Trevor has been working as director of the Nairobi Homes Group since March 1991.
He studied at Western University is located in Canada.
In March 2024, he sold a plot of land at Galleria Business Park to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the construction of the Africa Central Area Office.
Trevor Kanja Ties with the Kenyatta Family
Trevor is the son of the late Jimmy Kanja and Noma Florienta Kanja.
He is the brother of Erika Kanja, wife of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s brother, Muhoho Kenyatta.
Jamaican Roots
President Uhuru used his brother’s ties with the Kanja family to reiterate shared history and relations between Kenya and Jamaica.
Kenyatta spoke during a state visit to Jamaica’s capital city of Kingston in August 2019.
He stated that Noma was married to Jimmy, who was a Jamaican, and Muhoho is married to their only daughter.
“I can confirm that Jamaicans are everywhere because the mother of my brother’s wife comes from Jamaica but lived in Kenya all her life,” he said.

Death of His Mother
Norma was the daughter of the late Rupert and the late Loretta Forbes, sister of Valerie Afflick, the late Doreen Nesbitt, and the late Carlton Forbes of Kingston, Jamaica.
She died on August 20, 2017, at a Nairobi hospital after a long struggle with illness.
President Kenyatta mourned her as a wonderful human being whose story should be copied by others.
“As we have all heard, she was a wonderful human being, and we can testify to that fact. Mama Norma Kana lived her life well and has left an enduring legacy that should be emulated. We stand in solidarity with you during this trying and difficult time of mourning.

It has a selection of over 70 outlets of the most renowned brands.
The Mall houses several stores such as Carrefour, Bata, Text Book Center, Woolworths, Java, Artcaffe, Urban Burger, among others.
Other big businesses include Bank of Africa (BOA), Bikes & Sports, Coldstone Creamery, and AutoXpress.
Galleria Mall has new developments such as The Galleria Gardens Business Center and its Residential Town Houses.
It has approximately 550 parking bays and was worth Ksh2 billion in 2022.
