The family of Margaret Wambui Githara, 43, has announced her untimely passing on June 15, 2024, following a short illness while visiting her family in the USA.
A memorial service will be held simultaneously at her home in Ndeiya and in Kansas, USA, on Friday, June 21, 2024.
In accordance with her final wishes, Margaret will be cremated in a private ceremony in Kansas where she passed away.
Her family honors this personal decision as a testament to her wishes and the love she had for her family.

According to her obituary, Margaret Wambui Githara was a cherished daughter, wife, and mother.
She was the daughter of Peter Githara Njoroge and Jane Wangari Githara of Ndeiya, Limuru, Kiambu County.

According to the obituary, her passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Kamau Mugo, the former Chief of Staff for Nairobi County, and their loving children, Cynthia Kamau and Emmanuel Mugo Kamau.
She was a sister to Nancy Githara of The Monarch School, Mercy Githara of the USA, Grace Githara, and Tom Githara.
Cremation Culture
Over the years, wealthy and prominent politicians, church leaders and sports personalities have chosen cremation, some against the will of their relatives and clans.
For instance, former Head of Civil Service Jeremiah Kiereini was cremated in March 2019 at a private family function.
Former chairperson of the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization, the late Jane Kiano was also cremated on October 27, 2018 at the Kariokor crematorium two days after her death.
