Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has opened registration for aspirants seeking to contest for various elective positions on the party ticket in the 2027 General Election.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 2, the party has urged prospective candidates to complete their registration process as it prepares to organize its grassroots structures and nomination activities ahead of the elections.
DCP said registering as an aspirant gives prospective candidates official recognition as individuals seeking the party’s nomination and allows them to participate in the nomination process, subject to the party’s rules.
DCP Lists Benefits for Aspirants
According to the party, registered aspirants will have an opportunity to campaign and present their agendas to voters while accessing party structures for mobilisation and grassroots engagement.
The party also listed participation in official DCP aspirant activities and programmes, access to nomination information and official party communication among the benefits of registration.
DCP said registration would also give aspirants an opportunity to build their political profiles, demonstrate grassroots support and compete with other aspirants ahead of the nomination process.
The party described the registration process as a pathway towards becoming its candidate in the 2027 General Election.

How to Register as a DCP Aspirant
DCP has directed aspirants to make payments through PayBill number 247247 using account number 254829.
The account name is Democracy for the Citizens Party.
After making the payment, aspirants are required to send their transaction message together with their full name, identification number, phone number, county, constituency, ward and the position they intend to contest.
The information is to be sent to the party through its official contacts, 0719 682 269 or 0777 829 110.
The registration comes as political parties begin positioning themselves and organizing structures ahead of the 2027 General Election, which will determine candidates for elective positions across the country.
During its launch in 2025, Gachagua said the DCP had no preferred candidates and would prioritise the voices of Kenyans. This formed the basis of the party’s slogan, “Skiza Wakenya,” which means “Listen to Kenyans.”
The former Deputy President added that the party was committed to inclusivity and had onboarded representatives from different groups across the country, including Gen Z.
The party’s symbol is a hand holding an ear, symbolizing the act of listening to Kenyans, while its official colours are green, red, white and black.
