Irene Mayaka serves as a Nominated Member of Parliament under the Orange Democratic Party (ODM). She has been nominated to chair the Regional Integration Committee.
Previously, she served as a Special Elect Member of the Nyamira County Assembly.

Before holding a public office, Irene previously worked as a banker for eleven years, gaining experience in management with responsibilities in client experience, service quality, and portfolio management.
Irene also serves as the Africa Liberal Network Ambassador for the Women Leadership Program, 2022 and was ranked the Second Runner-up in the Ms. President Season 1 Competition in Kenya
