Tim Kipchumba has rejected the UDA nomination results for Elgeyo Marakwet Senate by-election.
According to the politician and businessman, the United Democratic Alliance primaries held on Saturday November 26 were not free and fair.
“Thank you Elgeyo Marakwet! Thanks to our team and fellow aspirants! We articulated a better vision. But the UDA primaries, even as well intended to be Free and Fair by H.E @WilliamsRuto were marked by countless irregularities. We’ll issue a statement soon!” Kipchumba Twitted.
Moreover, the immediate former Marakwet West MP William Kisang was declared the winner of the senatorial primaries.
He won the by-election with 28,126 votes ahead of his rivals Kipchumba and Jonah Tanui who garnered 26,756 and 26,735 votes respectively.

Nonetheless, Kisang celebrated the results although his rivals refuted the outcome claiming massive irregularities.
“I thank God for the victory and am happy that the will of the people has prevailed,” Kisang said.
The returning officer Nicodemus Bore declared Kisang the winner and issued him the party certificate.
Furthermore, with UDA being the most dominant party in the region, Kisang has a higher chance to be elected Senator in by-elections set for January 5, 2023.
Nevertheless, the by-election follows the resignation of CS for Roads Kipchumba Murkomen who had been elected on August 9, but quit after being appointed by President William Ruto.
