Moitalel Ole Kenta is a Kenyan politician and lawyer who previously served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Narok North for two terms, from 2013 to 2022.
He is widely recognized as a staunch defender of the Maa nation’s interests and has been a central figure in Narok County politics for over a decade.
On January 22, 2026, the politician was named as Jubilee Party’s Secretary General, not long before the 2027 general elections’ campaigns officially kicked off.
Early Life and Educational Background
Moitalel Ole Kenta was born in 1962 near Narok, Kenya.
Ole Kenta attended Eor Enkitok Primary School from 1969 to 1975, where he obtained his Certificate in Primary Education (CPE) and later joined Kilgoris Secondary School, earning his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 1983.
Between 1984 and 1985, he completed his A-levels at Kijabe High School, obtaining the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE).
From 1987 to 1990, the lawyer earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi.
He attended the Kenya School of Law in 1990-1991, where he received a Post Graduate Diploma in Law, qualifying him to practice as an advocate, and was admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya shortly after graduation.

Since 1992, he has been the sole proprietor of Kenta Moitalel & Co. Advocates.
Early in his career, Ole Kenta was selected by international NGOs to lead a landmark lawsuit defending the indigenous Maasai and Ogiek communities against land displacement in the Mau Forest.
Before his 2013 election, the lawyer served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kenya Wine Agency Limited (KWAL) from 2009 to 2012.
He has held several key roles, including Director at the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) and Chairman of the Hotels and Restaurants Tribunal, spanning from 1995 to 2001.
The politician has served two terms, from 2013 to 2022, as the Member of Parliament for Narok North Constituency.
During his second term, he was ranked 49th out of 290 MPs for his efficient management of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).

Moitalel Ole Kenta is a father of two children, and one of his sons serves as a senior park warden in the Maasai Mara.
