Eve Obara Akinyi is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Kabondo Kasipul Constituency in Homa Bay County.
She has been serving in this role since 2017 and was re-elected in 2022, making her a two-term MP.
Additionally, she is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Eve Akinyi Obara completed her secondary education at Loreto High School, Limuru (1975–1978), followed by Lwak Girls Secondary School, where she earned her East African Advanced Certificate of Education in 1979–1980.
She then attended the University of Nairobi, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science between 1981 and 1984.
Obara furthered her studies internationally, earning a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 1991–1992.

Career life
Eve Obara served as Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) from 2007 to 2017, leading the institution to market dominance and recognition as one of Kenya’s top-performing state corporations.
She entered elective politics and was elected Member of Parliament for Kabondo Kasipul Constituency in August 2017 under the ODM party banner.
Obara was then re-elected in the 2022 general election and continues to serve in the 13th Parliament.
