Morans Record
Kenya is one of the most successful teams in Rugby Africa Sevens with 4 titles, alongside Uganda (five titles) and South Africa, who have one title but have frequently reached the finals with development squads.
Morans have used the tournament as a platform for global qualification, securing spots in the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2018 and 2022 and the Olympics in 2016 and 2024.

If Kenya wins the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens, the team will secure one of the two available spots in SVNS Division 3, guaranteeing their participation in this global competition.
This would enhance their exposure to higher-level sevens rugby and provide a platform to compete against other emerging sevens nations.
Kenya’s men’s team (Shujaa) is already a core team in the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS series, having secured promotion by defeating Germany 33–15 in the 2024 Madrid play-off.

Winning the 2025 Rugby Africa Sevens would not affect their SVNS status directly, as they are already qualified, but promotion to SVNS Division 3 could provide additional competitive opportunities or development pathways for their squad.
A tournament win would reclaim the African title Kenya last won in 2023, boosting team morale and national pride after a sixth-place finish in both legs of the 2024 Rugby Africa Sevens.
