Tech giant Samsung Electronics on January 23, 2025, unveiled the Galaxy S25 series, marking a major leap forward with the introduction of multimodal Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents.
Comprising the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 phones, this series sets a new standard as a true AI companion.
This new series is the first step in Samsung’s vision to transform how users interact with both their devices and the world around them.

A first-of-its-kind customized Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset delivers greater on-device processing power for Galaxy AI1 and superior camera range and control with Galaxy’s next-gen ProVisual Engine.
AI agents with multimodal capabilities enable Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos for interactions that feel natural.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series
The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 6.9-inch* QHD+ enhanced screen with Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display and Super Smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera features include 50 MP ultrawide camera sensor upgraded from the previous 12MP, 200 MP Wide Camera, 50MP Telephoto Camera, and 12MP Front Camera.

The phone also features a 12GB internal memory with storages varying from 1TB, 512GB and 256GB.
However, the storage options and availability may vary by carrier, country or region, with actual storage availability varying depending on pre-installed software.
Samsung S25 Ultra boasts a 5,000 mAh battery capacity, chargeable through both with a wired and wireless charging.
The phone also features a 5G*, LTE* network connectivity, Wi-Fi 7**, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 5.4 connection.
Additionally, the phone also water resistant, featuring an IP68 Water Resistance rating.
According to Samsung, the rating is based on lab test conditions of submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.
Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in titanium silverblue, titanium gray, titanium black, titanium whitesilver, titanium jetblack, titanium jadegreen and titanium pinkgold.
Galaxy S25+ and S25
Also launched was the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 series, containing almost similar product features.
Galaxy S25+ features a 6.7-inch QHD+, 50MP Wide and 3x Optical Zoom Telephoto Cameras.
Memory and storage options range from 12GB + 256GB to 12GB + 512GB.
S25+ phones feature a 4,900 mAh battery, with the phone chargeable through wired charging, up to 65% in around 30 mins and a fast Wireless Charging.
On the other hand, Galaxy S25 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display screen, 50MP Wide and 3x Optical Zoom Telephoto Cameras.

Galaxy S25 and S25+ come in navy, icyblue, mint and silver shadow, blueblack, coralred and pinkgold colors.
The two phones use AI to handle multiple tasks with a single ask. They also come with Galaxy AI features such as Now Brief and Audio Eraser.
Thanks to the upgraded One UI 7, these features work seamlessly on Galaxy S25 and S25+.
Pricing
For gaming enthusiasts, the Galaxy S25 Series presents the very first 3nm processor custom-designed for Galaxy smartphones.
Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy integrates ray tracing and Vulkan optimization for an improved gaming experience, a larger vapor chamber and new thermal interface material (TIM).
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is available on Samsung’s official retail stores and Safaricom shops in Kenya.
For the prices, S25 (12GB + 128GB) is set to retail starting from Ksh108,300, S25 (12GB + 256GB) from Ksh116, 200, S25+(12GB + 256GB) from Ksh132,000, and S25+ (12GB + 512GB) Ksh147,800.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra (12GB + 256GB) is set to retail from Ksh172,800, whereas the S25 Ultra (12GB + 512GB) (12GB + 1TB) will retail starting from Ksh188,400 and Ksh204,000) respectively.
Pre-orders are now available from January 22 to February 16, 2025, at authorized Samsung stores and e-commerce partners.
Samsung Head of Mobile Experience, Samsung Electronics East Africa Anthony Hutia said that customers who pre-order the Galaxy S25 Series will get 2X double storage at no extra cost, Ksh5000 cashback with loop, and a limited offer for a Jambojet free return ticket.
