The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has published loan interest rates charged by Kenyan commercial banks as of June 2025.
In the lending and deposit rates notice released on August 1, CBK said the overall average lending rate was 15.29, while the deposit rate was 8.37.
Citibank N.Kenya had the lowest lending rates with 10.60, followed by Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited with 12.20.
Ecobank Kenya Limited and Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited are next with 12.90 and 13.08, respectively.
Guardian Bank Limited’s rates stood at 13.54, followed by Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited, which had a lending rate of 13.80.
According to the notice, the following banks had an interest rate of between 14 and 15: Paramount Bank Limited (14.37), Habib Bank AG Zurich (14.61), Gulf African Bank Limited (14.70), Equity Bank Kenya Limited (14.84), and Bank of India (14.98).
Premier Bank Kenya Limited and Bank of Baroda (Kenya) Limited rates stood at 15.00 and 15:90 respectively.
The lending rates of Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited and ABSA Bank Kenya PLC were 15.15% and 15.29%, respectively.
Other banks with rates above 15 include NCBA Bank Kenya PLC (15.41), Prime Bank Limited (15.44), Victoria Commercial Bank PLC (15.64), KCB Bank Kenya Limited (15.69), Guaranty Trust Bank (K) Ltd (15.74), Kingdom Bank Limited (15.75) and National Bank of Kenya Limited (15.87).
Banks with Rates Above 16
Family Bank Limited comes first in this category with 16.00, followed by Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited with 16.09.
M-Oriental Bank Limited and African Banking Corporation Limited had rates of 16.10 and 16.17, respectively.
UBA Kenya Bank Limited’s lending rate was 16.44, followed by I&M Bank Limited had 16.55
The Development Bank of Kenya Limited’s rates were 16.69, while DIB Bank Kenya Limited’s rates stood at 16.85.
Sidian Bank Limited has a lending rate of 17.52% during this period.

Banks with Rates Between 18-19
SBM Bank Kenya Limited, Bank of Africa Kenya Limited, and Middle East Bank (K) had lending rates above 18.00.
The bank’s rates were 18.00, 18.21, and 18.65, respectively.
Banks with the Highest Interest Rates According to CBK
HFC Limited had a lending rate of 19.01, followed by Commercial International Bank (CIB) and Credit Bank PLC, both with 19.43.
Access Bank (Kenya) PLC had the highest lending rate at 19.97%.

Deposit Rates
Premier Bank Kenya Limited had the lowest deposit rate of 2.86, followed by Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited with 3.11.
Credit Bank PLC had the highest rate at 13.18, followed by African Banking Corporation Limited at 12.32.
