King Charles III is set to make a gradual return to public life after a three-month hiatus following his cancer diagnosis.

Buckingham Palace has announced that the 75-year-old monarch will resume his public-facing engagements, starting with a visit to a cancer treatment center next week.

Despite the ongoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, Buckingham said King Charles III remains committed to fulfilling his state duties, including hosting a state visit by the Emperor and Empress of Japan in June.

“His Majesty the King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis,” said Buckingham Palace in a statement.

His return is seen as a significant step to reduce pressure on the Royal Family, which has faced challenges due to his absence and that of the Princess of Wales who is also battling cancer.

King Charles’ Recovery Process

The cancer was discovered after the King was hospitalized for an enlarged prostate, though Buckingham Palace has clarified that he does not have prostate cancer specifically.
