A former police chief who investigated Jeffrey Epstein has revealed new details about what Donald Trump allegedly knew about Epstein’s activities, despite Trump’s repeated denial of any knowledge of the crimes.
According to former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, Trump contacted him during the investigation to commend law enforcement efforts against Epstein.
“I received a call from Donald Trump at the time to say thank goodness you’re stopping him; everyone has known he’s been doing this,” said Michael Reiter.
Chief Michael added that Trump was among the first to call when people learned they were conducting the investigation.
The alleged call from Trump came in July 2006, around the time the details of the police investigation became public.
However, Trump has consistently denied having any knowledge of his criminal activities, maintaining that he severed ties with the disgraced financier more than 20 years ago.
Reiter’s detectives were investigating him over allegations that he recruited underage girls under the guise of providing massages, which later led to criminal charges.
Trump’s Statements on the Epstein Case
According to a Department of Justice document, Trump criticized Epstein and called Ghislaine Maxwell “evil” during a call two decades ago. This document surfaced shortly after Maxwell’s lawyer requested executive clemency from Trump.
The two friends reportedly had a falling out, and shortly afterward, Maxwell recruited 16-year-old Virginia Giuffre from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, where she worked as a spa attendant, an action that angered Trump.
“He hired help… He stole people who worked for me. I said, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ He did it again, and I threw him out of the place, persona non grata,” Trump said.

Trump, in a call two decades ago to a Florida police chief, bashed his former friend Jeffrey Epstein and called Epstein’s procurer, Ghislaine Maxwell, evil, according to a document released by the Department of Justice.
The document about Epstein’s case came to light hours after Maxwell’s lawyer called on Trump to grant her executive clemency, so that she could speak honestly about what she knows.
The reiter was a central figure in the first law-enforcement probe into Epstein in Florida.
After repeatedly sparring behind the scenes with local prosecutors, Reiter went public in 2006, expressing his displeasure with the prosecutor’s decision to present the case to a grand jury rather than charging Epstein directly.
Reiter apologized to the victims for the way the case had been handled by the prosecutor and then coordinated with federal authorities to launch another investigation into Epstein, which ultimately ended in his non-prosecution agreement in 2008.

Through his wealth, he built connections with powerful figures, including politicians, business leaders, and royalty.
While jailed and awaiting a federal sex-trafficking trial, Epstein killed himself by hanging.
After his death, his content, including who is named in them and in what context, became a topic that roiled both sides of the political aisle.
During the second administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, the call for the files to be made public became a national conversation, and the eventual release of thousands of documents only deepened the controversy around his actions and his connections to powerful figures.
