UN Marks Fourth Anniversary of Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine
The loses comes when Ukraine is marking four years of Russia’s full-scale invasion on its land.
During the United Nations (UN) Security Council meeting on February 24, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mariana Betsa, said Russia’s invasion constitutes a war against the rules-based international order, pointing to mass strikes on civilians, nuclear safety risks and the deportation of children.
She stressed that achieving peace requires an immediate ceasefire and called for tougher sanctions, enhanced air defence support and binding security guarantees.

Betsa said Ukraine rejects any territorial concessions and considers its sovereignty non-negotiable, while also advocating for prisoner exchanges and accountability.
She warned that if aggression is allowed to prevail, no country would feel safe.

Moscow Accuses Europe
On the other hand, the Russian Federation’s delegate said the meeting was unrelated to the maintenance of international peace and security.
They accused several European states of prolonging the conflict while disregarding diplomatic efforts.
He claimed that the 2014 change of power in Kyiv resulted in the rise of extremist elements and alleged that violations against Russian speakers had been ignored.
Moscow reiterated that it considers diplomacy the preferred path, but maintained that any settlement must address the root cause of the conflict.
Calling for a negotiated settlement, the delegate of the United States said the conflict in Ukraine cannot be resolved through military force and stressed the need for diplomacy to end the war.
