Yussuf Farah Mohamed is a Kenyan politician and currently serves as the Member of the National Assembly for Wajir West Constituency under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Education
Farah Yussuf Mohamed began his formal education at Jogbaru Primary School, completing his KCSE examinations in 1999.
In 2007, he enrolled at the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Sociology in 2009.
In 2011, he returned to the University of Nairobi to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a program he is currently undertaking.
Career
Professional career
Farah’s professional career began in 2006 when he served as a Liaison Officer for the Somali Relief and Development Action.
The same year, he worked as a Field Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), engaging in refugee management and humanitarian support, a position he held until 2008.
Between 2007 and 2009, he was a Project Officer at the Nomadic Development Organisation, focusing on programs to improve the livelihoods of nomadic communities.
In 2010, Farah served as Deputy Registration Officer at the Interim Independent Electoral Commission, contributing to voter registration and electoral processes.
In 2011, Farah joined the District Pastoral Association (DPA) as a WASH Project Coordinator, implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene programs.
Farah became a Project Manager in 2012 at Wardi Relief & Development Initiative, a position he held until 2013.
From 2013 to 2022, he was the Managing Director of Baraki International HQ, a role that marked his entry into business leadership.
Political career
His political career began in earnest when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Wajir West Constituency under ODM.
