Born in Mombasa and raised in Nairobi, Njerae’s music is rooted in storytelling, emotion, and an undeniable sense of self-expression.
Early Life and Education
Njerae’s love for music began early in her formative years. She began singing at the age of three and later joined the church’s praise and worship team.
This experience not only boosted her confidence but also instilled in her the discipline of rehearsals and live performance.
Her passion was nurtured further by her parents, who introduced her to rhythm and blues (RnBs), a genre that continues to influence her artistry.
After high school, Njerae pursued a degree in psychology at the University of Nairobi (UoN).
The discipline shaped her songwriting, with many of her tracks exploring the complexities of relationships and emotions.
She also honed her craft at Sauti Academy, where she refined her vocal and production skills.
