Julius Taitamu Manaiba is a Kenyan politician and the current member of Parliament for Igembe North Constituency, Meru County.
He was elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket in the August 2022 general election.
Educational Background of Julius Taitamu
Julius Taitamu began his formal education in 1979 at Nkiriana Primary School and completed his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1986.
He then attended Igwanjau Secondary School in 1987, where he earned his O-Level certificate in 1990.
Subsequently, he trained at Meru Teachers Training College from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Primary Teacher Education (PTE) certificate.

Later, he pursued tertiary studies at Kenya Methodist University, earning a bachelor’s degree between 2010 and 2013.

Julius Taitamu began his early career, which was rooted in education, in 1994.
Employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), he served as an assistant teacher from 1994 to 2002, then advanced to deputy head teacher between 2002 and 2009.
From 2009 to 2011, he held the post of head teacher under the Teachers Service Commission.
Julius Taitamu later transitioned to union leadership, serving as Branch Executive Secretary for KNUT (Kenya National Union of Teachers), Meru North branch, starting in 2011.
He then joined the County Government of Meru, where he served as the Member of the County Executive Committee (CECM) responsible for Roads, Transport, and Energy from 2017 to 2022.
In the 2022 general elections, Juilius Taitamu was elected to parliament to represent Igembe North Constituency.
