Super Metro on the Limelight
The matatu Sacco has been in the spotlight recently following its suspension after the death of a passenger.
In March 2025, witnesses reported that the incident originated from a dispute between the victim and a conductor over a fare difference of Ksh 30.
The fare was Ksh 80, but the passenger only had Ksh 50, leading to a confrontation that tragically escalated.
The accident led to the suspension on March 24, 2024, of the PSV’s operations by the NTSA, effectively paralyzing Sacco’s services.
Further, the NTSA demanded that all vehicles under the Sacco be subjected to a thorough inspection before resuming operations.
