The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, John Mbadi, has appointed a new Non-Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees.
In a notice dated July 4, 2025, John Mbadi appointed Hussein Dado as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 10 (1) (a) of the Public Service Superannuation Scheme Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— HUSSEIN DADO,” the notice read.
Dado will serve for three years, effective from July 4, 2025.
Hussein Dado served as Tana River Governor from 2013 to 2017.
Wangamati Replaced by Hussein Dado
Before the new appointment, the Cabinet Secretary revoked the appointment of former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati on June 27, 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Service Superannuation Scheme Act, as read together with Section 51(1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning revokes the appointment of Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati as the Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees, with effect from June 27, 2025,” read part of the notice.
Wangamati’s removal came one year after his appointment to the position.

John Mbadi Revokes Appointment
At the same time, John Mabdi has revoked the appointment of Dr. Susan N. Mambo as a member of the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 29 (1) (c) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning *revokes the appointment of— SUSAN N. MAMBO (DR.),” read the notice.
The revocation takes immediate effect as of July 4, 2025.

Other States Appointments
Additionally, the President William Ruto has appointed John M. Munyu as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
In the same notice, the President revoked the appointment of Charles Githinji.
He has also revoked, with immediate effect, the appointment of Mediheal Group of Hospitals founder, Dr. Swarup Mishra, as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya BioVax Institute Limited Board of Directors.
At the same time, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Lee Kinyanjui, has appointed Consolata Rop as a member of the National Standards Council.
