Azimio’s presidential running mate Martha Karua has intensified campaigns in the Mt. Kenya region, asking residents to rally behind Raila Odinga in his presidential bid.
While speaking during her tour in Kiambu County on Saturday, May 21, Karua stated that Kenya can only achieve real reforms and be free from the shackles of corruption under the leadership of Raila Odinga.
Moreover, Karua while recounting her time in leadership as well as that of Raila, said they have over time proven to Kenyans their competency and integrity in undertaking government roles.
“When I was the Minister of Water in the late President Kibaki’s government, I worked hard to revamp the sector and the same was witnessed later in the Justice ministry,” she said.
The Narc Kenya party leader additionally referred to Raila as a transformative leader who, in his time of service in the ministry of roads, steered the country to great milestones. She further commended the ODM boss stating that his appointment to the African Union as Head of Infrastructure should reaffirm to Kenyans his ability to deliver.
She said.
Moreover, Karua hit out at their political rivals in the Kenya Kwanza coalition led by the Deputy President saying their track record is tainted by corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
While at it, she warned residents of Mt. Kenya against being deceived by leaders with empty promises who, while in office, neither made an impact on their lives or those of Kenyans in general.
