Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga has urged voters in his Nyanza backyard to give him enough troops by voting in ODM candidates.
Speaking in Siaya, Odinga said that six-piece voting will enhance the formation of a stable government should he be elected president.
If it works, it will then mean that voters will elect their MCA, MP, Woman Rep, Senator, Governor and President all from the Raila led ODM party.
Odinga told his supporters that there is nothing much the people of Nyanza could achieve if they are not united.
Odinga’s visit was meant at countering a resurgent and strong wave being caused by independent candidates in the region.
Independent candidates in the region are causing shock waves and giving ODM candidates a run for their money.
In Siaya for instance, former Rarieda M Nicholas Gumbo is presenting strong opposition to Senator James Orengo who is the ODM candidate for the governor seat
Gumbo is running on a UDM ticket.
In Homabay, former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who is running as an independent candidate is proving to be a big threat to ODM candidate Gladys Wanga.
Kidero who had initially sought the ODM ticket walked out of the party after Wanga was handed a direct ticket
In Kisumu County, governor Anyang Nyong’o is facing stiff competition from former governor Jack Ranguma who is running as an independent
Ranguma also walked out of ODM after Nyong’o was handed a direct ticket.
