Raila Odinga while speaking during a televised interview reported that he is ready to concede defeat should he lose the presidential bid.
The Azimio-One Kenya alliance presidential flag bearer noted that he is a ‘sportsman’ and will heartily congratulate whoever wins the presidential elections.
“I am the sportsman between me and him (Ruto). (Asiye Kubali Kushindwa si Mshindani) He who does not accept defeat can never be successful,” he stated. If I lose in the August election. I will be the first congratulate the winner.”
Moreover, Raila Odinga’s response come in handy after DP Ruto has on several occasions ridiculed and challenged him to publicly declare that he will accept election results should he lose the August duel.
Likewise, the Azimio presidential candidate has disputed election results three times before, during the 2007, 2013 and 2017 elections claiming he beat his political opponents.

Nonetheless, Raila and his running mate Martha Karua, promised to lower the cost of living in the country within their first 100 days in office, if they clinch the presidential seat.
They plan to do so by cutting down on government expenditures. Odinga further suggested that the government should in the meantime reduce its expenditure and instead give priority to essential services.
“We are really just talking about essential commodities like the cost of unga, sugar, cooking oil, fuel. You can look at budget and make some adjustments in terms of expenditure, both recurrent and development.” He said.
At the same time, Karua reiterated Raila’s sentiments saying they will put efforts to ease the suffering of Kenyans.
Furthermore, as far as the current cost of living is concerned, the duo distanced themselves saying they are not yet in government, thence cannot really do anything to change it.
