Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has revealed that he has ordered his son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba to get off Twitter.
Museveni disclosed that he made the decision to ask his 48-year-old son to quit Twitter after he misbehaved on the platform and nearly caused a war between Kenyans and Ugandans.
Speaking during an interview with a Ugandan TV station on Monday, October 17, Museveni confirmed his son will take a sabbatical from Twitter.
Museveni insisted that his son Muhooza can only be allowed to access Twitter to comment about sports and other topics but not politics.
“He will leave Twitter. We have this discussion. Twitter is not a problem. The problem is what you are tweeting about,” Museveni said.
“Talking about other countries and partisan politics of Uganda is something he should not do and he will not do it,” he added.

General Muhooza agreed with his father and confirmed that he will be accessing social media but will restrict himself to other issues apart from politics.
The latest development comes barely a fortnight after Museveni was forced to apologise to Kenyan President William Ruto and Kenyans after his son suggested he will be taking his troops to Kenya to capture the capital, Nairobi.
Muhooza also took hits at Wiliam Ruto by asking Uhuru Kenyatta why he did not attempt an unconstitutional third bid at the presidency in the August poll.
He, however, asked for forgiveness from Ruto for his sentiments.
