More Twitter employees are exiting the company as reality begins to kick-in following the eventful takeover by the world’s richest man Elon Musk.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that mass layoffs are expected to be initiated by the American billionaire in the coming days as he implements his new policies designed to allow “free expression” days after “freeing the bird”.
The company’s chief advertising officer, chief people and diversity officer, marketing chiefs, general manager for core technologies and the head of product and vice-president of global sales have officially announced that they are exiting the company.
Chief customer and advertising officer Sarah Personette is among the latest employees of the company to announce that she was leaving the company days after saying she was ready to work with the new leadership.
Shortly after taking over, Elon Musk dismissed Parag Agrawal the chief executive officer, Ned Segal, the chief financial officer and Vijaya Gadde, the legal affairs and policy chief.
Others who have left include: Dalana Brand, the chief people and diversity officer, Nick Caldwell, the general manager for core technologies, Chief marketing officer Leslie Berland, the company’s head of product Jay Sullivan and vice president of global sales Jean-Philippe Maheu.
Latest report from Bloomberg suggests that Musk would cut about 3,700 jobs – half of Twitter’s workforce – reportedly to cut costs and would start charging for Twitter “blue check mark” verification as soon as next week.
