Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has addressed reports about a tussle between him and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi over office spaces.
Over the weekend, reports about the alleged tussle broke amid confusion on where the two CSs would settle following the cabinet reshuffle announced by President William Ruto.
However, CS Kuria dispelled the reports, stating that Prime CS Mudavadi will continue to operate from the Railways Headquarters office.
In addition, Kuria revealed that his office as the CS for Public Service and Delivery of Government Services will be at Harambee House.
“Contrary to media reports today, there is absolutely no tug of war between myself and my senior and close friend Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi,” Kuria stated.
“The PCS will continue operating from Railways Headquarters and myself from Harambee House,” he added.
Additionally, Kuria clarified that Principal Secretary for Performance and Delivery Management Veronicah Nduva will be based at Harambee House.
The arrangements, he noted, were as per Executive Order Number 1 of 2023.
Multiple versions of the alleged tussle between Kuria and Mudavadi had emerged with some reports indicating that the Prime Cabinet Secretary was poised to move into the Old Treasury Building along Harambee Avenue.

Where it All Started
At the onset of the Kenya Kwanza regime’s administration, the Kenya Railways Headquarters was announced as the designated office of the newly created post of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
The buildings, dating back to the colonial era, would be renovated to host the office of the would be third in command in the Kenya Kwanza government hierarchy.
Whilst some quarters described the decision to send Mudavadi to the Railways office as demeaning, the Prime CS dismissed the reports and affirmed that he was comfortable with the designated offices.
On his part, Kuria who was by then assuming the role of the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Trade settled for an office at the Two Rivers Mall in Ruaka as his operating base.

Months later, however, reports emerged that his Ministry’s headquarters moved from the mall to the NSSF building in a move aimed at cutting down on government expenses.
With the newly arranged cabinet, Mudavadi embarked on an expanded role, combining his office of the Prime CS and that of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On his part, Kuria took over the docket of Public Service albeit with a new name and slightly different roles from the time it was held by the current Gender SC Aisha Jumwa.
