Police officers from Kilimani police station in Nairobi County killed two city robbers after a fire exchange on Wednesday, November 22.
In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the two gangsters were said to be terrorizing locals in Kibra and the surrounding areas.
Notably, it was after members of the public had complained and sent anonymous reports to the DCI that undercover officers swung into action.
The officers also recovered a Beretta pistol and six rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven spent cartridges and four bullet heads were recovered alongside the firearm,
Also, the two suspects identified as Rundo and Mulinyo were accused of their felonious dealings in the populated area.
During the operation, the suspects are said to have drawn their firearms and started shooting at the officers.
“The wrong move prompted the ever-agile sleuths to respond with finality, fatally injuring the duo,” read the DCI’s statement.

Notably, the bodies were moved to a city mortuary for identification.
Earlier police Shoot-Outs
Earlier, a similar incident took place in Siaya when two gunmen linked to the murder of a security officer who was escorting KCSE exams were shot dead.
According to an official police report, two firearms suspected to have been stolen from the officers were recovered.
Cleti Kimaiyo, the Siaya County Commander confirmed the incident, adding that there is another suspect who was arrested and taken to police custody.
Similarly, detectives were focused to nub the suspects as more were sent from Nairobi to the Kenya-Uganda border to back up for reinforcement.

This was after the three men believed to have been behind the incident in Siaya were spotted in a village in neighboring Busia County.
“The MP5 and AK47 Rifle were recovered at Hawinga from the house of Sheikh Rashid who escaped the police dragnet, while two suspects were fatally wounded. The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to serve and to protect,” read part of a police report.
