The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group Board of Directors includes only three women, who serve alongside six men at the organization’s highest level of governance.
The trio comprises Anuja Pandit and Agnes Njeri, who serve as board directors, and Bonnie Okumu, the Group’s General Counsel.
Their experience spans banking, accounting, legal, and financial services at a senior level.
KCB’s Director Agnes Njeri Profile
Agnes is a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years of experience at KPMG, including 24 years as a partner.
She held leadership roles across KPMG’s offices in East Africa, South Africa, and Nigeria, and later worked part-time on audit quality initiatives within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region until February 2024.
She has also served in several regulatory and professional roles, including chairing the Central Bank of Nigeria Technical Working Group of Regulators and External Auditors of Deposit Money Banks.
Njeri was a committee member at the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and the National Insurance Commission.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and serves on its Professional Standards Committee.
Njeri is also a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS-K), the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, and the Women on Boards Network, and is an alumna of the Center for Corporate Governance.

Profile of Anuja Pandit
Anuja Pandit holds a master’s degree in strategic management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from United States International University (USIU), Nairobi.
She also holds an ACI Dealing Certificate from the ACI Financial Markets Association.
Anuja has close to 20 years’ experience in banking, including roles at Citibank where she served as Vice President in Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Sales, and later as Regional Director.
In these roles, she worked on digital trading systems for institutional and corporate clients and led teams across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Her experience includes developing and implementing business strategies, particularly in foreign exchange and investment portfolios for regional and multinational clients.
She currently runs a consultancy focused on helping property management companies improve operations and compliance.

Who is Bonnie Okumu?
Bonnie Okumu is the Group General Counsel at KCB Bank Kenya, a role she has held since July 2018.
She previously served as Head of Legal Services from January 2014 and has been the Bank’s Company Secretary since January 2016.
Before joining KCB, she was Chief Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer and Company Secretary at Telkom Kenya.
She also worked at Unilever Kenya as General Counsel and Company Secretary, overseeing legal and company secretarial functions across multiple operations in East and Southern Africa.
Earlier, she was the Regional Legal Manager at Nestlé, where she established the legal department and supported operations across several countries in Equatorial Africa.
She began her career in private practice as an associate at Hamilton & Mathews, advising clients including banks, insurance firms, and consumer goods companies.
Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi, is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, and is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K).
