A 62-seater bus was on the morning of Friday, December 22 involved in an accident in Londiani area within Kericho County.
In a statement, Kenya Redcross stated that a 62-seated bus crashed along Londiani -Muhoroni Road.
“A road traffic incident involving a 62-seater bus has been reported along Londiani – Muhoroni Road, Kericho County,” read the statement by Redcross.
However, no casualties have been reported yet notably this is the second accident happening in less than a week the area.
Londiani One week old Accident
Notably with the numerous travels amidst the festivities a couple of road accidents have so far been reported.
On Thursday 14th December 2023, a 66-seater bus was reported to be involved in a fatal road accident along the Londiani, Kericho County.
At the time Forty passengers narrowly escaped death when the 66-seater bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Tunnel area along the Londiani-Muhuroni road.

The accident which occurred at around 3am left the passengers with multiple injuries.
Kericho County Red Cross Co-ordinator Sylvia Tuwei said five people sustained serious injuries and were taken to Kericho County Hospital for treatment.
According to police reports the accident reportedly occurred when the driver of the bus encountered a sudden stop by a vehicle in front of him.
“In an attempt to avoid a collision, he swerved and veered to the left side of the road. The bus eventually came to a rest on the left side of the road, facing the Muhoroni direction,” read a police report in part.
Murkomen Campaign Along Londiani Highway
Worth noting, Londiani has experienced a number of accidents in 2023, however on 16th of September 2023, Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen started an initiative to reduce accidents along the highways.
“In fulfilment of a promise I made after the Londiani accident, I have this afternoon launched a nationwide road safety campaign in Kericho County,” noted Murkomen.
At the time the CS launched the campaign while promising Kenyans on placing road signage on major highways.
“The campaign, which seeks to reduce road accidents, entails marking of roads and placement of signage on major roads and highways in an effort to reduce road accidents,” said Murkomen.
Also, at the time the CS noted that the pilot phase of the campaign is to cover the Counties of Kericho, Nakuru, Kiambu, Machakos, and Nyeri, with plans underway to spread it to other counties.
