At the center of his suspension were questions on a staff mortgage scheme and assessment approved under his leadership.
In a separate report, it emerged that Chiloba was accused of abusing his position by irregularly approving the scheme.
The points of contestation included discrepancies in the valuation of some projects in the mortgage scheme.
However, he asserted his innocence and accused the board of denying him a chance to defend himself.
“The allegations leveled against me, (Conflict of Interest, abuse of office, intent to defraud the authority, lack of professionalism and integrity and negligence of duty and failure to show due care are unfounded, incorrect and unjustified,” Chiloba noted.
Controversies follow Chiloba
The resignation ends his tenure at the Communications regulator in yet another controversy.

In his former position as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Chiloba left his post after protracted wrangles between him and the Commission’s leadership.
He had declined to appear before a parliamentary committee probing the electoral commission’s management hence leading to speculations over his future.
In a subsequent letter, Chiloba stated that his fate was predetermined and chose to publicly announce his exit after having reportedly received a letter of termination.
