Residents of Ngara have woken up to a huge explosion and fire that has engulfed the whole residential area.
The incident occurred early in the morning along Desai Road area opposite West Matt Supermarket.
According to preliminary reports, the explosion occurred at a nearby gas station, igniting a fire that is spreading rapidly.
A fire started at the area, before a loud bang was heard followed by an explosion and a huge smoke.

First Responders Arrive at Ngara After Fire
Moreover, videos seen by the Kenya Times, the fire was still ablaze by the time of publication of this article.
However, fire fighters and other first responders arrived at the scene to try and contain the fire.
Kenyans online have expressed their shock over the incident, stating that the loss and fatalities from a previous gas explosion at Embakasi Estate was still fresh.
“I am deeply sorry for the loss Ngara has experienced in the fire tragedy. My thoughts are with all the families who have been affected. Losing a home or property is devastating.
“I hope you find the strength and support needed to rebuild and heal during this difficult time,” Kuia Chronicles on X stated.

Recent August Fires in Nairobi
On August 28, a huge fire has razed down Bed Palace, a furniture business along Thika Road causing a traffic snarl up along the service lane at Roysambu’s Car Wash area.
Affected traders rushed to the establishment to try and salvage property while much of the building was already up in flames.
This was the second time a fire had broken out at the establishment in 2024. The earlier incident occurred three months prior, destroying property of unknown value.
On the other hand, four people died property of unknown value destroyed following a fire outbreak at Toi market in Kibera, in the early hours of Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The four people were reported to have been burnt beyond recognition.
Moreover, preliminary reports indicate that a child was among the four and that some of the victims were attempting to save their property when they were overpowered by the flames.
