Additionally, the authority has warned motorists planning to travel along the affected section of the A8 and has advised them to consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
KeNHA has recommended detours, including the Gilgil–Olkalou–Dundori–Lanet route and the Flyover–Njambini–Olkalou–Dundori–Lanet route, which are expected to ease congestion and facilitate smoother travel.
KeNHA Warns Motorists
The authority gave a detailed map that included the highlighted and affected routes, closed points, and diversion paths to assist drivers in navigating the traffic.
In the map, there is a major traffic snarl-up along the A104 highway between Gilgil and Nakuru, especially near Kariandusi Kanyawa. Motorists are advised to avoid the A104 between Gilgil and Nakuru

Sinkhole Causes Major Traffic Disruption
On 30, April 2025 the authority announced traffic disruption along Nakuru-Kampi Moto road, the disruption was caused by the emergence of a sinkhole in that area, and maintenance works were currently underway to address the issue.
The affected section was at Kiamunyi near Riva Petrol Station, about 1.5 km from the KFA Roundabout.
Moreover, the huge sinkhole caused traffic snarl up along the London-Kabarak highway in Nakuru County.

Traffic Disruption Along Mombasa Road
Additionally, the authority announced a traffic disruption along the Mombasa Road (A8) near Katani Road Junction on April 30,2025.
In a notice, the authority stated that the disruption occurred at a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Katani Junction Road, which was to experience traffic from Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10.00 pm to Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 6.00 am.
According to the authority, the traffic disruption was to allow for the installation of the remaining fabricated footbridge beams.
