The MP was forced to cut short his speech as the chants of the people overpowered his voice.
Meanwhile, president Ruto, who had already concluded his speech, stood on top of his vehicle and watched as the people waved away their hands at the MP, to show that they wanted him out.

Kimani Ichung’wah Defends Ruto’s Mount Kenya Visit
Earlier in Meru Country, the Kikuyu MP dismissed critics questioning the significance of President William Ruto’s visit to the Mt Kenya region following his fallout with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to Ichung’wah, Ruto remains highly regarded in the region because of his development track record.
“They said the President would never return to Meru, where is the Head of State now. The President is in Maua, isn’t Maua in Meru county. Isn’t Meru county in Mt Kenya region?” he asked.
Moreover, Ichung’wah said that the President will be making more visits to the region.
“There are people who have become very arrogant. They have been saying the President will never step in Maua and then they go ahead to say they will decide how the region will vote. People will look at the track record when they decide how to vote,
“The President will come to the Mountain, stay around and nobody will intimidate him,” he said.
