Matatu Carrying Students Intercepted with Bhang Worth Ksh 1M
At the time of his arrest, the driver, identified as Calvin Okoth Otieno, was carrying only students, perhaps banking on the assumption that such company would shield him from suspicion.

However, his clever ruse was no match for the watchful eyes of members of the public.
DCI stated that Okoth is currently held in custody at Kamagambo Police Station, undergoing processing pending his court appearance.
This comes after a team of detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit and the Operations Action Team arrested three notorious drug traffickers on March 29 and seized a substantial cache of cannabis sativa.
Acting on intelligence, the team raided a rented house in Maji Mazuri, Mwiki, where they apprehended the primary suspect, 38-year-old Serah Wambui Nyaguthi.

A search of the premises led to the discovery of 67 bales and five sacks of cannabis sativa, meticulously concealed within the house. Further interrogation of Nyaguthi provided crucial leads, resulting in the arrest of two more suspects: 43-year-old Miriam Omwoso Aywa and 32-year-old Moses Karanja.
The trio was taken to Muthaiga Police Station, while the confiscated drugs were transferred to the DCI headquarters for safe custody as exhibits.
In a separate operation, police officers in Embakasi arrested three more suspects—Sam Muthoka Musembi, Peter David Mumo, and Dorris Rashma Mutil—in possession of 181 rolls of bhang and 10 kilograms of unprocessed cannabis.
The suspects were taken to Embakasi Police Station as they undergo processing ahead of their court appearance.
