Kenyan activist Mwabili Mwagodi has been found after he went missing on Wednesday, July 24, 2025.
Human Rights Activist and Vocal Africa CEO Hussein Khalid said Mwabili has been released and is presently with Vocal Africa and Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) officers in Mombasa.

He was dropped off around 3 am and walked to Diani, where he managed to reach out to his family.
“Mwabili was dropped in a bush in Kinondo, Kwale county, around 3 am where he walked for about 3kms to Diani. While in Diani, he managed to call his family, who alerted us, and we sent our officers immediately,” Khalid said.

“While in Diani, Mwabili voluntarily took himself to the police station but to everyone’s surprise, the police wanted to detain him. Our officers intervened, and he was released,” Khalid added.
