M.P. Shah Hospital’s Role Within the SHA Framework
M.P. Shah Hospital has been among the private healthcare facilities contracted by the Social Health Authority (SHA) to provide services to beneficiaries under Kenya’s public health financing programmes.
The hospital has been providing care to patients covered by key funds, including the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), the Primary Healthcare Fund (PHCF), and other specialized schemes managed by SHA.
As a contracted provider, the facility has been part of the network designed to expand access to healthcare services for insured Kenyans, particularly in urban settings where private hospitals complement public health institutions.
Its inclusion in the SHA panel has enabled beneficiaries to seek specialized and advanced treatment within a private hospital setup while still receiving coverage under government-backed health schemes.
